This look takes a bit of courage, buying a lounge in a strong colour not always recommended. If this seems a bit too drastic go for a neutral lounge and add colour through a large rug. Combine a few shades of the colour for depth and some striking geometric patterns combining black, white and blue. The geometric elements will give the look a modern feel, as will the animal print. A couple of glossy black accessories add some glamour.

Upholstery Specialist: Kurt Chapman
This is a true craftsman, with impeccable work, Kurt Chapman brings tired furniture back to life. Starting out with a four-year apprenticeship in upholstery, Kurt developed his craft. Now an established workshop in Islington is his domain. His work includes antique and modern upholstery.
Clients can bring their pieces into the workshop and choose fabrics and discuss the work needed on their furniture. With the new range of Warwick fabric just arrived, there are some very exciting looks for autumn/winter 2013. The fabrics are available for sale as are other upholstery supplies.
Generally work on a piece, such as an occasional chair can take 8-12 hours. Kurt also collaborates with the furniture designer Stuart Pinkerton, whom also has a showroom and workshop in Islington. Together they completed the fit out for the restaurant, Brown Sugar, Warners Bay.

Fashion Files: The Lair
This has got to be one of the coolest shops around. The store design is very edgy, a perfect reflection of the clothes and accessories which they sell. Update your wardrobe with a couple of pieces from this store and add a cool twist to your look.

Seraph Jewels
This gorgeous jewellery and homewares store is tucked away in The Junction Village. The shop is packed with gift ideas and little homeware treasures. Some of my favourites include the jugs and glasses that are plastic but really look like quality glass, for that stylish outdoor party, the handmade porcelain pieces, the hand cut illustrations and extensive range of pretty pastel jars, so very chic. http://www.seraphjewels.com.au
